Abstract
This research was undertaken to obtain empirical evidence about relationships between the punishments given to the pupils, their characteristics and those of their Lycees in the 1996-97 training year, in Izmir Lycees. The study population included all secondary schools in the province of Izmir in the 1996-97 training year. 25 out of the total of 235 Lycees found in the Izmir region were chosen as samples to be analysed. In the research, 23 sub-problems were posed. To obtain related data, the Discipline Committee's Record Books and Class Pass Books were examined.
