Abstract
The aim of this study is to ascertain the perception of organisational values of administrators and teachers in primary schools. The study was conducted using the 24 value dimensions developed by McDonald and Gandz and data were analysed firstly through rank ordering and then through establishing the median, the Mann-Whitney U-test and Kruskall Wallis H test. The results showed significant differences between perceptions of creativity, caution, social equality, obedience, formality, orderliness, experimentation, moral integrity, fairness, openness, broad-mindedness and organizational values of the teachers and the administrators. It was found that the values of creativity, social equality, moral integrity, fairness, openness and broad-mindedness were of higher priority in the principals’ perceptions than the teachers’ and that teachers’ perceptions gave higher priority to the values of experimentation, orderliness, formality, obedience and cautiousness
