Abstract
This study investigated the effectiveness of roundhouse diagram as a teaching strategy on students’ understanding of nervous system. Students’ conceptual understanding of nervous system was measured using the Nervous System Achievement Test developed by the researchers. The test was administered as pretest and posttest to a total of 60 tenth-grade students in two intact classes of the same high school located in an urban area. The experimental group was a class of 30 students received roundhouse diagram based instruction. A class of 30 students comprised the control group received a traditional instruction. This study also interested in determining the students’ attitudes towards biology. Attitude towards biology and pretest scores were used as covariate in this study. Analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) showed a statistically significant difference between the experimental and control groups in the favour of experimental group after treatment.
