Effects of Some Variables on the Duty Expectation Levels of Candidate Administrators from School Counsellors

Abstract

This study investigated whether the duty expectation levels of candidate administrators from school counsellors showed any significant difference according to some variables. The data was gathered from 109 candidate administrators who participated in an in-service training seminar held between the dates 3rd and 21st July 2000. A "Personal Information Form” and an “Inventory of Duty Expectations From Guidance Experts” were used to collect data. The data was analysed using Mann Whitney U Test, t-test on independent groups, Kmskall Wallis Test and Scheffe Test. According to the results, of this research, duty expectation levels of candidate administrators from school counsellors did not show a significant difference according to sex, faculty from which they graduated and seniority However, it showed a significant difference according to the source of help applied to when a problem occurs and whether or not there is a school counsellor in the school.
