School Resources, Family Characteristics and Student Performance: Evidence from Secondary School Entrance Exam in Turkey

Abstract

The paper examines the determinants of student achievement on the secondary school entrance exam (SSEE). The data for this project were collected through a survey of 810 primaryschool graduates. The empirical work is carried out by forming a model on student achievement and three categories of school, student, and family characteristics from primary-school graduates who were successful in SSEE.
